The Coyotes scored four runs in the third and closed the game with three runs in the sixth for a mercy-rule victory Tuesday over the Stallions to continue their dominance over Madera South. The Stallions haven’t beaten the Coyotes since the school opened.

Joslynn Davis made it three straight innings of scoring a run for the Coyotes with a lead-off double. She went to third on a groundout and scored on a Gennahlyn Sanchez groundout.

Brooks led off the fifth with a bunt single. After Brooks stole second, DeAnda reached on another bunt single. With Brooks at third, DeAnda stole second. Hernandez flew out to right to drive in Brooks.

The Coyotes closed out the game in the sixth. Sofia Perez led off with a double to deep center. Sanchez drew a walk. Brooks singled up the middle to score pinch-runner Mariah McMillon. DeAnda singled to drive in Sanchez and Hernandez flew out to drive in DeAnda with the 10th run of the game and invoke the mercy rule after six innings.

Meanwhile, Dawson had her way with the Madera South batters. Although she allowed a baserunner in all six innings, none reached second base. She was also the beneficiary of three double plays.
