Serial felon sentenced to 100 years to life

John Anthony Barajas, 36, of Sanger, has been sentenced to 100 years to life in state prison, according to District Attorney David A. Linn.

Barajas who was sentenced March 28, had three prior convictions for robbery and pled guilty to four new counts of robbery, each new count carrying a penalty of 25 years to Life in state prison under the Three Strikes Law. Barajas also pled guilty to leading police on a high-speed chase from Fresno to Madera along State Route 99 on May 25, 2017, which ended in his capture.

Madera Superior Court Judge Mitchell Rigby presided over the change of plea, and visiting Judge Frank Dougherty presided over the sentencing.
