Madera County Sheriff's Log through Jan. 14

The Madera County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents. Jan. 9

4:22 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Veater Ranch Road in Coarsegold regarding a male subject with a knife. A report was written and case closed.

4:16 p.m. — A deputy was dispatched to the 16000 block of Harper Boulevard in Madera regarding a domestic disturbance. A subject was found to have five outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Subject was arrested, cited and released from the scene with a new court date. A report was written.

10:14 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the 20000 block of Golden State Boulevard in Madera regarding a burglar alarm activation with three subjects riding a quad. Upon arrival it was determined entry was made on the south west side of the property where subjects cut the chain link fence. It was later determined the subjects stole a quad and fled the scene through a hole they cut in the fence on the east side of the property. The case is to be forwarded to detectives for further investigation. Jan 10

8:15 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 14000 block of Lindy Lane in Chowchilla regarding an online Internet scam. An investigation was conducted and a report was written for documentation purposes. The case was closed.

3:15 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Westlake Drive in Oakhurst regarding a report of a child being assaulted. Interviews were conducted, photos were taken and suspect was arrested and booked into custody at the Madera County Department of Corrections.

4:45 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to a business on the 40000 block of Highway 41 in Oakhurst regarding a disturbance between a customer and an employee. The employee was arrested and booked for possession of a concealed dagger.

6:03 p.m. — Deputies had been investigating previous theft cases at a residence located in the 32000 block of Road 221 in North Fork. They found a large utility trailer at this location and determined the trailer was an unreported stolen vehicle. Deputy was assigned to meet the victim (owner) of the trailer to report the vehicle as stolen and recovered the same vehicle. The vehicle was released to the victim and the case was closed. Jan 11

8:36 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to take a report over the phone regarding a financial elder abuse case in Coarsegold. The abuse occurred in the 31000 block of Blue Heron Way in Coarsegold. The case is to be forwarded to detectives for follow up. Jan 12

9:33 a.m. — Deputy took a report of a runaway juvenile from a foster placement in the 28000 block of Posey Avenue in Madera. The juvenile was entered into the Missing Persons Database. A report is to be forwarded to detectives and Child Protective Services.

1:30 p.m. — Deputy was flagged down by a citizen at Road 400 and Road 415 in Coarsegold regarding a found cell phone. Report was referred to detectives for follow up.

6:54 p.m. — Deputies responded to the 40000 block of CA-41 in Oakhurst regarding a report that a shoplifter had brandished a knife at an employee. An investigation was conducted. A suspect was identified on a later call for service and was arrested on separate charges.

Jan 13

2:50 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 12000 block of Trieste Drive in Madera regarding a trespassing subject. Subject was contacted on the property and arrested for trespassing. Suspect was transported to Madera County Corrections, where he was booked without incident. Case forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for a misdemeanor charge to be filed. Jan 14

3:45 p.m. — Deputies responded to the area of Yosemite Springs Parkway and Corral Drive in Coarsegold regarding a physical fight. A report was taken and closed until the suspect can be identified and contacted.
