Post Office to be open Saturdays

Madera Postmaster Henry DeLaTorre has announced holiday Saturday hours at the Madera offices at 201 South D St.

“We will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays until Christmas,” DeLaTorre said. “Our goal is to improve our customer service during the month of December.”

Services available will include priority flat rate shipping, postage purchase and parcel pickup.

All purchases will need to be made with credit or debit cards, he said. The postal service offers a variety of winter and Christmas themed stamps to add a festive look to holiday cards.

Since the holiday season is such a busy time of year for everyone the postal staff is hoping the extended Saturday hours will add convenience for their postal customer, he said.

“We were successful offering Saturday hours last year and we wanted to do it again this year,” DeLaTorre said.

Customers will also be able to retrieve certified and vacation-hold mails as well, he said.
