Suspicious death discovered near Cottonwood Creek

Madera County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death near Cottonwood Creek and Avenue 7 after receiving a call reporting the discovery of a body around 1 p.m. today.

When deputies arrived, they determined there were signs of foul play, according to Sheriff's Cmdr. Tyson Pogue, who said investigators are processing any evidence they can find at the site.

The sheriff's office had no further information available, including the identity of the body.
