FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Preston Tucker and A.J. Reed connected on back-to-back homers in the first inning to help lead the Fresno Grizzlies to an 8-4 victory over El Paso Chihuahuas on Thursday.
The home runs were both solo shots and gave the Grizzlies a 2-0 lead.
The Grizzlies later added two runs in the second and four in the seventh. In the second, Drew Ferguson and Tony Kemp hit RBI singles, while Garrett Stubbs hit a two-run double and then scored on a two-run single by Max Stassi in the seventh.
Reed homered and singled twice, scoring two runs in the win. Stubbs doubled and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two.
Fresno starter Mike Hauschild (6-2) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and eight hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Chris Huffman (0-1) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after giving up four runs and 10 hits over five innings.
For the Chihuahuas, Rocky Gale doubled and singled twice, driving in a run and also scoring one.
