Blash hits grand slam, leads El Paso Chihuahuas over Fresno Grizzlies

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Jabari Blash hit a grand slam in the third inning, leading the El Paso Chihuahuas to a 14-9 win over the Fresno Grizzlies on Monday.


The grand slam by Blash capped a five-run inning and cut the Fresno lead to 6-5 after Peter Van Gansen scored on a ground out earlier in the inning.


After El Paso tied the game 7-7 in the fourth, the Grizzlies took the lead in the fourth inning when Preston Tucker hit a solo home run.


Jose Valdez (3-3) got the win in relief while Kevin Comer (5-4) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.
