WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Max Stassi hit two solo homers, and Rogelio Armenteros pitched six scoreless innings as the Fresno Grizzlies beat the Sacramento River Cats 4-1 on Monday. With the victory, the Grizzlies swept the four-game series.
Armenteros (1-0) allowed two hits while striking out eight and walking three to get the win.
Fresno went up 2-0 in the fifth after Stassi hit a solo home run.
After Fresno added two runs, the River Cats cut into the deficit in the seventh inning when Justin Ruggiano hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Mac Williamson.
Andrew Suarez (2-2) went seven innings, allowing four runs and six hits in the Pacific Coast League game. He also struck out eight and walked two. Kyle Smith gave up one run in three innings and recorded his first save of the season.
With the win, Fresno improved to 12-4 against Sacramento this season.
