Chowchilla Music in the Park underway

The City of Chowchilla launched its Music in the Park summer concert series Friday night with the Only Cash Tribute Band. But those unable to attend still have five bands ahead.

Performances are from 7:30-9 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park on Robertson Boulevard at 6th Street in downtown Chowchilla.

The Stardusters will perform sounds of the Big Band era on July 6. The Shakers will offer Americana Roots Country on July 13. Deja Blues will present rockin’ blues July 20. Cottonwood Creek will play homegrown country July 27. Force ‘Em will close out the series with pop, rock and latin rhythms Aug. 3.

Attendees should bring a lawn chair or blankets for seating in the shade of park trees.

The summer concert series is presented by the city along with season sponsors Pacific Gas & Electric and the Madera County Arts Council.
