FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Justin Ruggiano and Mac Williamson each homered and drove in two runs as the Sacramento River Cats beat the Fresno Grizzlies 9-3 on Thursday.
Sacramento went up 4-0 in the third after Ryder Jones hit an RBI double, bringing home Jarrett Parker as part of a three-run inning.
Fresno answered in the bottom of the inning when Preston Tucker hit an RBI single, scoring Jon Kemmer to get within three.
Sacramento southpaw Andrew Suarez (1-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings. Opposing starter Charlie Morton (0-1) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after allowing one run and two hits over two innings.
For the Grizzlies, Tony Kemp singled three times, driving in two runs.
