Blanks leads Sacramento River Cats to 5-4 win over Fresno Grizzlies

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Kyle Blanks had two hits and scored two runs as the Sacramento River Cats beat the Fresno Grizzlies 5-4 on Tuesday.


Ryan Webb got Tyler White to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his first save of the season.


Sacramento started the scoring in the second inning when Tim Federowicz hit an RBI double and then scored on a two-run single by Orlando Calixte.


Trailing 5-2, the Grizzlies cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Reid Brignac hit a two-run home run.


Matt Reynolds (2-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Fresno starter Brian Holmes (0-2) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.


For the Grizzlies, Andrew Aplin singled twice, driving in two runs. White singled three times, scoring two runs.
