Church to hold Easter egg hunt

A local church’s Easter egg hunt will be open to the public this year, after coming back for the first time in two years.

According to Madera City Councilman Donald E. Holley, Second Missionary Baptist Church will host the egg hunt at McNally Park at 1:30 p.m., after the church’s Easter service. The hunt will have an estimated 200 eggs. Last held in 2015, bringing the event back was the idea of Second Missionary’s usher, Ruby Curry.

“Ruby saw a need to bring it back and give the kids something to do and have something for them,” Holley said, “so that’s the reason she decided that.”

An Easter play will be held at the church (828 S. A St.) before the Easter egg hunt and lunch will also be served at the park.
