Prayer breakfast set for Jan. 28

St. Joachim Court #2553 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas will sponsor a prayer breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 28 at Holy Spouses Hall, 310 North I St.


The theme of the prayer breakfast will be “Put It In God’s Hands.”


Guest speaker Rev. Sergio Perez is a vocation and youth director for the Holy Spouses Province of the Oblates of Saint Joseph, an international congregation of priests and brothers dedicated to serving Jesus in imitation of his foster father. Ordained in 2012, Perez formerly served as the local St. Joachim Church parish vicar. He now resides at Mount St. Joseph in Loomis.


Tickets for the charity event are $15 each or two for $25, and can be obtained at St. Marello’s Bookstore, 211 North J St. or 662-0682.


Founded in 1903, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. They also have “courts” or chapters in Guam, the Virgin Islands, Kenya and Peru.
