The baby was delivered by Dr. Charles Ugwu-Oju, obstetrician-gynecelogist of Madera.

Little Miss 2017 is the daughter of Michael Redding and Christina Hester of Chowchilla. She is the third child in her family and is being welcomed by her big brothers Michael, 8 and Jordon, 6. Her paternal grandparents are Donna Holt of Chowchilla and Terry Redding of Sonora and her maternal grandparents are Dorothy and James Hester of Los Banos.

Christina is a teacher and reading specialist at Ronald Reagan Elementary School. She also conducts an after-school-program for the non-profit SER Jobs for Progress, Inc. Redding is the maintenance manager for The Village at Chowchilla where the after-school-program is conducted.
