Former Stallions named All-Conference

Former Madera South Stallions football player Justin Gallegos earned a first-team All-Conference selection for the Heart of America Conference.

Gallegos, a senior, was fourth on the team with 46 tackles and was No. 12 in the NAIA with five interceptions.

With his parents in attendance, Justin’s brother, Jordan Gallegos (Madera), ran for a 70-yard touchdown run, the longest of his career, in Augsburge College’s season finale loss to Bethal University. The run came on a fake punt in the second quarter. His 70-yard run was 61 percent of the team’s 113 yard total.

Dominique Andrews (Madera South) earned an honorable mention in the California Pacific Conference for the UC Merced women’s volleyball team.

Although he missed the last week because of an injury, Ethan Richardson (Madera) is averaging 11.9 points per game with 5.4 rebounds while making 50 percent of his shots for the City College of San Francisco men’s basketball team.
