FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — A 35-year-old Visalia man accused of killing his 14-year-old stepson has been found guilty.
Miguel Pacheco was found guilty on Wednesday of first-degree murder in connection to the death of Dameian "Luke" Gulley.
Pacheco reported Dameian missing on Nov. 18, 2013, prompting an extensive search by Vidalia authorities. A few days later, the teen's body was found in a remote area of Sequoia National Park.
Prosecutors say Pacheco used an electrical cord to strangle the teen after becoming upset about Dameian staying out late.
Sentencing is set for Jan. 1. Pacheco faces 25 years to life in prison.
