True wisdom is found in the heart of all who understand

“Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding; but that which is within the midst of fools is made known.” — Proverbs 14:33 Some of the books I read and most of the programs I watch on television are based around or on nature.

There was a book I read several years ago that was brought to my mind by a program I watched on the nature channel about the blue whales. When they told about the heart and the amount of blood a blue whale has when it is full grown, was something I had to think about to comprehend just how much the program was talking about.

The blue whale, the largest living animal on our planet, can be up to 100 feet long and weigh as much as 150 tons. The heart of a full grown blue whale can weigh as much as 1,000 pounds and pumps as much as 7 tons of blood through the whale’s body. That is a very large heart and circulating system compared to the human species.

The human heart weighs less that a pound and pumps about 10 pints of blood every minute and can pump 30 pints of blood a minute when doing brisk exercise. The human heart pumps about 75 gallons of blood each hour when not under heavy exercise. The heart adjusts to the demand needed for the blood to the different muscles and other organs of the body. The oxygen in the blood is what the muscles need when there are extra activities put on them for higher performance. The heart adjusts to the demand and the lungs put in the oxygen needed for the body to perform the activities taking place. The blood circulating system in other warm blooded animals operates the same way as the whale or the human system.

The Creative Intelligence of the Universe (God) created the perfect system and used it in all of Its creation where blood had to be circulated to the muscles to give movement to the body. The lungs play a very important part in the function because it is the oxygen in the blood the muscles need for them to perform as needed. The birds, fish, reptiles, and insects have a similar type of circulating system but it is the heart we are interested here in this article.

The heart is the most reliable pump ever built and performs without having to be primed or lubricated like man made pumps. The food one eats is what keeps the heart pumping without maintenance. The heart pump for circulation is different from the heart mentioned in the scripture verse at the top of this article. The heart mentioned in the scriptures is the heart at the center of the soul and is the guide for a life of joy, peace and harmony and a true understanding.

The understanding of this heart is what Jesus meant by telling us “to find the Kingdom within” and the recognizing of the Heaven on earth was here for every one with that understanding to enjoy. The heart pump is the one which keeps all life on this planet functioning, but it is the heart at the center of the soul which guides those to a life of love and joy who have that understanding and the wisdom to follow it.
