Thanks to supervisors for helping Arts Council

In a recent Madera Tribune article, on the front page, was an article regarding the decision of the Madera County Board of Supervisors to contribute more than $95,000 to help bring the Downtown Madera Master Plan and Performing Arts Center to fruition.

Those of us who have been part of the development of the Madera County Arts Council know well a performing arts center was and has been one of the major goals established by the late Nancy Clute, the first MCAC director. We are pleased that her dream at last will be a reality.

Many thanks to all who committed time and effort to get to this point, as well as to the Madera County Board of Supervisors for recognizing the value of this asset to the citizens of Madera.

— Shirley Sudduth, Retired PACES coordinator, Madera County Arts Council
