FRESNO — The Madera American Little League 11-12-year-old All-Star baseball team took advantage of its extra day off with a 2-1 victory in the quarterfinals of the District 10 All-Star Tournament.
While some team played two or three games before Tuesday, the Madera American All-Stars used it to their advantage, starting ace David Ramirez for the second straight game.
Ramirez tossed a four-hit complete game for the victory Tuesday over Sunnyside-Lone Star Little League in Fresno. He struck out 15 and walked just one batter.
Meanwhile, the Madera American offense was held in check by Sunnyside’s Tiziano Moreno. He struck out nine batters, but allowed two runs, one earned on just four hits...
