Lottery theft suspect arrested

A man was arrested in Madera after a lottery ticket theft was caught on surveillance video.

The Madera Police Department said a Madera resident, Mark Estacio of Madera entered Six Star Chevron at 101 S. Gateway Drive on May 8 and allegedly took 70 lottery tickets worth $3 each. Surveillance footage caught Estacio reportedly in the act.

The suspect was arrested May 10 on suspicion of theft, in the park across the street from the Chevron station.

“The stolen lottery tickets were recovered from (the suspect’s) residence and most of the tickets were unscratched,” Madera police said in a statement.
