Coyotes fall in extras to Tigers

For the first time since joining the County/Metro Athletic Conference, the Madera Coyote softball team suffered a loss to the Edison-Fresno Tigers.

Although it took two extra innings for Edison to get the win, the Coyotes (22-7, 7-2 in CMAC) all but clinched second place in the conference for the fourth straight season after a 3-1, nine inning loss Tuesday at Zimmerman Field.

Edison’s Kayla Bowen broke a scoreless tie in the top of the seventh inning by hitting a Destiny Ricks riseball over the centerfield fence for a 1-0 lead.
