Liberty High School outfielder going to Air Force academy

For the city of Madera, 2016 is proving to be the Year of the cadets.

Madera native and Liberty High School varsity outfielder Caleb Wiens has been accepted into the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. This just as Madera High School’s Eric “Ricky” Niino was admitted was admitted into West Point.

“It’s a big honor, it really is,” said Kevin Rosenwinkel, Wiens’ baseball coach. “It’s hard work, a lot of effort, a lot of time spent and extracurricular, everything.”
