Volunteer Linda Zacharia shows the new food storage area at Griffin Hall. The new area and walk-in freezer will allow the hall to store large amounts of fresh food and canned goods. The soup kitchen serves between 200 to 500 meals per day depending on local circumstances.

The Honor Guard for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1981 participates in the blessing and dedication of Griffin Hall’s new addition. The hall was originally the site of a one room schoolhouse that was the first home of St. Joachim School when it opened in 1927. The town’s old Catholic church used to sit next to the hall.
