The Madera County Workforce Investment Board is currently in the process of a five-year strategic planning process, and we are seeking input and guidance from employer.

The Madera County Workforce Investment Board has oversight responsibility for the local workforce development system which includes the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center. The Center provides job training and employment-related assistance to jobseekers as well as providing business services to the employers.

This planning process is a critical component and effort in order for the local workforce development system to be as responsive as possible to the current and future needs of the employers related to their workforce needs.

What training is needed, what skill sets are required, what industry specific certificates or credentials are needed or wanted? These are just a few of the questions we are seeking input on. We invite employers from the following industries to attend a one hour, 4-5 pm, industry specific focus group; Health Care on Tuesday March 12th, Transportation and Logistics on March 13th, Manufacturing on Thursday March 14th, Agriculture and Renewable Energy on Friday March 15th at the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center at 441 E. Yosemite Avenue, Madera. Please RSVP or if you have any questions or are interested in completing a survey at 662-4500.

We look forward to and encourage your input and support to this strategic planning process.

Elaine M. Craig,
executive director, Madera County Workforce Investment Board
