On behalf of Relay For Life, Madera, I’d like to thank our entire community and beyond for making this year’s event so successful. It’s wonderful that one event can unite so many people for one reason: “Finish the Fight” against cancer.

Many thanks also to our committee, staff partners, and countless volunteers. We are even more grateful to the City of Madera Parks and Community Services Department for their tireless support and lovely location at Lions Town & Country Park.

Madera Elks Lodge, No. 1918 provided and served our delicious dinner, Papa Murphy’s baked and served their fabulous pizzas at midnight, and Madera Evening Lions prepared and served a wonderful pancake/sausage breakfast on Sunday morning.  Thanks to all.

Coffee was provided by both Starbucks locations and other food/drink items were donated by: Del Valle Foods, Moreno’s Madera Cakes, Bridge Store, Sunsweet, Madera Produce, Pak-N-Save, Food 4 Less, and IHOP.

We are also grateful to the following local supporters: GBS, Midland Tractor, Walmart, Arctic Glacier Ice Co., “A” Class RV. Inc., MUSD, Sunset Waste, Potter’s Porta Potties, Round Table Pizza, Lee’s Concrete, and United Rentals. If I’ve forgotten anyone, I sincerely apologize. We are still fundraising, and you may donate online: or email for info: rflmadera2013 char at

Other opportunities include Madera Speedway on Aug. 9 and Bark For Life on Aug. 23.

Charlotte Brewer,
2014 event chair
