I want to thank all those who attended the mystery dinner theatre at the Madera County Library last Friday evening. It was something a little bit different for our city in that the dinner guests were a combination of the audience and the actors. The audience was not always sure what was real and what wasn’t. It was all in good fun though and not to be taken seriously. Several people wanted to purchase the author’s book and have her sign it, only to discover that the book and the author were fictitious.
My main reason for this letter however is to make up for my omission of thank s to the Friends of the Madera County Library who put on this event as part of the Summer Reading Program and who worked very hard serving the meal and cleaning up afterward. I apologize for not recognizing you at the event. You are such a great group of people. We couldn’t have done it without you.
I also want to thank Sheriff John Anderson for his participation portraying himself in the play. He was so good at identifying the cause of death and then arresting the perpetrator as part of the performance. We were honored to have him there.
Finally many thanks to Carol Wolf, the playwright and director, Rick Dorris, who used his many talents to pull it together and all the actors who came together for this bold improvisational work. They did an excellent job.
Keep your eyes open for future events at the Library.
