I would like to take this time to tell you a little about what the Madera Food Bank does and provides.

For starters, we service all of Madera County so that means we produce food for not only Madera, but Chowchilla, Fair-mead, Raymond, Coarsegold, Oakhurst and North Fork. We have a total of 25 distribution sites throughout the county. We manage six different programs, some of them seasonal and some of them for just senior citizens in our county.

There are a variety of opportunities for people 18 and older to receive food also. Through our programs, we provide food to more than 20,000 individuals a month and give out more than 100,000 pounds of food a month to people in our county.

The Madera County Food Bank needs your support in all areas: financially, food donations, volunteering and word of mouth. We are so thankful to whatever area your heart encourages you to give.

I also want to take this time to thank all of our faithful volunteers and donors. Without your continued support the Madera County Food Bank would not be what it is today. Because of your support we were able to serve 3,640 families and give out 101,226 pounds of food to serve Madera County in the month of March. Thank you Madera!

Ryan McWherter,
Executive director, Madera County Food Bank
