I want to thank the wonderful group of people from Yosemite Christian Center, who braved the 108-degree heat on Saturday to volunteer their time and expertise at the Madera County Library.

Part of the group planted flowers in front, and on the side patio after cleaning it up, painted the outside drop box and cleaned the outdoor fountain. That was just on the outside.

On the inside, another team moved and cleaned the reference books — a daunting task to say the least because of keeping the books in order while they were being moved.

Still another team moved some of the children’s books. It was amazing to see people of all ages, all walks of life, willingly take time from their own busy schedules to help make our community a better place. It is a beautiful expression of their faith and a wonderful gift to our library. Thank you again!

Ellen Mester,
Madera County Librarian
