I noticed in the Madera Tribune recently, an article relating to Mr. Rick Farinelli, candidate for supervisor in District 3, who coordinated a coalition of county leaders to address the gang problems in the city and county of Madera. This is an excellent example of Rick's promise to look into problems now facing the citizens of Madera County. He has promised to promote jobs, reduce spending and work with local law enforcement agencies to reduce the crime level and gang activity. Rick has a business background and knows how to work with local business to promote employment.

It should be noted that while Rick is involved in efforts to reduce crime and gang activity, his opponent Gary Svanda, is featured in the Madera Tribune as a judge at the Elks Club Rib Cook-Off. Mr. Svanda has been a member of the City Council during the expanding of the gang activity in Madera and has done little to keep us safe.

The choice seems clear for the citizens of District 3, vote for Rick Farinelli, a man of action, or keep the best, regulate-and-spend, chili cook-off judge in Madera County.

Priscilla Rippetoe,
Madera
