Three cheers for Audrey E. Pool. Her letter in the Tuesday, Sept. 11, Madera Tribune’s opinion page was absolutely on target.

A woman’s body is her own and she can do whatever she wants with it (abortion), but if you don’t wear a seat belt and you don’t harm anyone else, your body is not your body. Isn’t that funny? No, it’s not, it’s just another tax, except it’s called a fine.

I guess a woman can now do whatever she wants within the law with her own body, except I think she should pay for it herself and not impose on other people to pay for her indiscretions.

The part Mrs. Pool wrote regarding freedom of speech was precisely right. The ultra left socialist types feel they have the only right to free speech. If you disagree with them then you have no rights to free speech at all. In fact you’ll probably be called a racist.

Thank you, Audrey E. Pool, for a very sensible letter.
