Ice show delights princess fans, raises 1,560 inches in hair donations

Disney princesses were traipsing around Wednesday evening at the Selland Arena in Fresno for the opening night of Disney On Ice: Dare to Dream — but they weren’t only dancing on the ice.

Hundreds of girls dressed up as their favorite princesses to sit in the audience at the ice show, which tells the stories of three princesses’ dreams.

The performance focuses on two of Disney’s newest princesses — Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog” and Rapunzel from “Tangled” — and the famous Disney classic, Cinderella. But don’t worry — Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Mulan, and Jasmine make guest appearances.

Just 18 men and 21 women, including 10 principal skaters, perform the entire show, transforming from waiters and townspeople to hornbills with six-foot wings, to skating horses, to Disney royalty...
