I hope that the most recent Madera County Grand Jury report is a wakeup call to the people of Madera County.

It seems the County Government Center has turned into one big circus tent. As a manager in a corporation I would have been fired on the spot if a report came out about me like the one about the County Administrator.

I wonder how many precious tax dollars were spent during this six-month investigation? Even worse is that the money appears to have been wasted because the Board of Supervisors isn’t going to do anything about it.

Well, wake up, Madera County voters. Next year is an election year for several board members and while we have been distracted by the scandals at the federal level, a scandal at the county level has gone unnoticed.

It’s time for elected officials to shape up or ship out!

Steve Johnson,
