What a wonderful paper. I enjoy it every time the mail comes. Read all the articles — Features, Local, Nation, World, Leisure, Sports, and of course the Obituaries and last but not least the Opinion Page.

If I were a teacher, Jim Glynn’s “Pulse of the Heartland” on April 18 and the Elaine Bethel Fink article “Mono’s and others roamed these lands” on April 17 would be copied with instructions written out as to what is to be expected of them, given to all seventh and eighth grade students for their homework for the weekend. To be written out and turned in on Monday. Special bonus grades would be given for all.

Chuck Doud has some good articles that would serve that purpose. In fact I learn a lot reading this paper. I graduated from Madera High School and now live in Fresno. Get the paper a day late, but that does not matter. I save articles and send to my children that live away from here because they do not get a small-town paper, and small-town papers are the best.
