Barack Obama and his supporters won the election, but our nation lost. Nations decline from within. We are seeing the results of not acknowledging and honoring a Holy God. He will give people of a nation what they want, what they believe is right in their own eyes, but not without consequence.

The changing demographics of our nation are not the issue; sin is the issue, our low morality is our downfall. Top of the list are abortion and homosexuality; abortion is murder, and homosexuality is a behavior, not skin color.

The challenge of Christianity is to give up “rights” for doing what’s right in the sight of God. To give up the right to have an abortion to let a baby have life is right in the sight of God. To give up the right to act on sexual desire that goes against nature is right in the sight of God.

We all suffer with different sin temptations. It is not a sin to be tempted; it is a sin to habitually act upon the temptation. Sin and the challenge to resist temptation to sin will continue until the return of Jesus Christ. When you sin, repent and pray for strength, courage, and comfort.

Pray for our nation, for God to open eyes to see and open ears to hear to believe in Him. Pray for God to cause hunger and thirst for His Word. Pray for tenacity to endure the persecution of being a Christian in the United States who believe in God and His Word. Pray for wisdom and courage to speak. Pray for wisdom and strength to not speak.

Prayer is the secret of survival. Every day is one day closer to the return of Jesus Christ. We need to help each other be in right standing with God.
