I am writing concerning the open field owned by the Wathen family, located on the southwest corner of Cleveland and Stephanie avenues across from Food 4 Less.

This field is always an eyesore, with tall weeds, trash, etc. The Wathen family will not plow it unless told they HAVE to by Madera Code Enforcement.

My husband and I have called Code Enforcement several times in the last few weeks and left our name and telephone number, and I have also e-mailed them with no response.

Do we still have a code enforcement division or has that been cut because of funding?

I have talked directly to the Wathen family about landscaping this field so at least it would be a little more pleasant to look at for all of us who live in the Wathen Mansionette homes just south of it. Other builders on this side of town have done just that. The Wathens, however, will not invest a dime into this and have no intention of building on it in the next few years. So if any other builders want to buy this land please do!! Thank you!
