We have an important election coming up for the Board of Supervisors, which will impact the City of Madera. District 3 encompasses the majority of the city and whoever holds that seat can be of great assistance in working on mutual problems.

I am certain that the best candidate for that job is Gary Svanda. Gary and I served several years together on the City Council, and in that time I developed a great respect for his intellect, integrity and moral values.

We faced many difficult problems in that time and he met them with courage and fairness. He was always well prepared, had read and understood the information we had. When he made comments or arguments, they were always on the mark and it was obvious that he had thought things through.

He has the depth and width of knowledge involving city issues as well as those which overlap county problems. He was often the peacemaker and was able to bring people together to work towards a common end. He worked well with the public and treated them all with respect and listened to their points of view. This is no job for an amateur, and there is little time for a long learning curve.

Gary will hit the ground running and will serve the county and the city as well. He will bring a new dimension to the Board of Supervisors and it won’t take long to find out that he is indeed the right choice. Please join me on Election Day and cast your ballot for Gary Svanda.
