The other day I had the opportunity to tour a portion of the Madera County Government Center. It was nice to see good workers efficiently doing their jobs. But the internal halls and many of the rooms are starkly bare and boring, overwhelmingly institutional.

The Board of Supervisors or the person they have put in charge of decoration should consider putting up appropriately placed pieces of original art. This would break the monotony.

Obviously when this has been done some will complain about the selections, but never forget the old adage that states, “poor taste is better than none.”
