By Madera County 4-H

Hannah Wimer, 14, belongs to Madera County’s Golden Oak 4-H club. She has been a member for six years and has participated in the Indoor/Mini Gardens Project for four years. This is the first year Hannah has medaled in the garden project with the County Record Book Award.

That is hardly her first honor. She received a silver medal for her Treasurer Record Book in 2011. At this year’s fair in Chowchilla, Hannah received 4-H Best of Show for her Flower Bowl Garden. She also received two first place ribbons and a second place ribbon for her other entries.

Hannah is currently serving her second year as teen leader to the Garden Project. Her other ongoing projects include cooking, outdoor adventure, and sewing. New projects for Hannah this year are aerospace and rocketry and shooting sports. Her favorite part of 4-H is having fun with her friends while learning new things.

Hannah is a freshman at University High School at California State University, Fresno. She plays the clarinet in the school band. Hannah also plays the piano. She is a member of the drama, Leo, and debate clubs there. Hannah also enjoys water sports and downhill skiing.
