I would like to tell you a little about what the Madera County Food Bank does and provides.

For starters, we service all of Madera County, so that means we provide food for not only Madera, but Chowchilla, Fair-mead, Raymond, Coarsegold, Oakhurst and North Fork. We have a total of 25 distribution sites throughout the county. We manage six different programs, some of them seasonal and some of them for just senior citizens in our county.

There are a variety of opportunities for people 18 and above to receive food. Through the programs we provide food to more than 20,000 individuals a month and give out over 100,000 pounds of food a month to our county.

The Madera County Food Bank needs your support in all areas: financially, food donations, volunteering, and word of mouth. We are so thankful for whatever area your heart encourages you to give.

I also want to take this time to thank all of our faithful volunteers and donors. Without your continued support, the Madera County Food Bank would not be what it is today. Because of your support we were able to serve 4,028 families and give out 101,226 pounds of food to serve Madera County in the month of January.

Thank you, Madera.

Ryan McWherter,
Executive director, Madera County Food Bank
