It may seem odd that someone living in Oakhurst (District 5) would write a letter of support for a District 3 candidate — except Rick Farinelli believes in fiscal responsibility, free markets, and constitutionally limited government, and so do I.

Committed to those values, Rick will work to stop a multimillion dollar busing scheme along Highway 41 from Fresno to Yosemite — while chipping away at the national debt in the process.

YARTS, the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System, is needed by the National Park Service to implement the goal of the 1980 Yosemite General Management Plan to totally eliminate private vehicle access to Yosemite Valley (yes, force you on a bus) at taxpayer expense, and YARTS facilitates this.

When Madera County is $8 million in debt and severely understaffed, it makes no sense to send two supervisors to YARTS meetings every other month while pulling county staff and precious funds away from local transportation projects.

Rick brings integrity and common sense to a political process badly in need of both. Vote Rick Farinelli for District 3 supervisor.
