There should be an audit of all agencies to see if the funds are properly used for the right projects. We are being punished for doing the right thing.

Jim Taubert is an excellent director who has done a good job changing the face of Madera. He knows what he is doing. Madera should form a coalition of the governing boards, county Board of Supervisors, City Council, Madera Unified School District and the Chamber of Commerce.

Our legal staff should dust off their law books and find something that will help us stop this wrong. Go to Sacramento and ask for an audience with Gov. Jerry Brown and make an appeal to the state to not penalize cities for using the funds correctly.

Jim has all of the necessary documents to identify all of the projects that the funds were used for. Do not sit back and let this happen to us. Laws were changed by working together for what is right. All governing boards of Madera stand up for the right thing.

Retired MUSD board member
