I am writing to express my full support for the election of Rick Farinelli for Madera County supervisor of District 3.

I understand that some in our community are not aware of Rick’s genuine concern, involvement or accomplishments, so I have decided to take a moment to write and send you this letter in hopes of providing you with a better understanding as to who he is, as well as why I find it important to have him elected.

As all of you know, my first and foremost concern for our community is public safety. Madera needs to increase officers (both law enforcement and fire) in order to solidify not only the safety of we residents, but ultimately for Madera County infrastructure to grow. Without solid and strong public safety, neither businesses nor citizens will chose to reside in our town, therefore keeping our county’s financial growth stagnant.

My experience with Rick is that he is a firm believer and supporter of public safety. He has taken many hours of personal time to establish a coalition of various law enforcement agencies, as well as local concerned citizens to reduce the significant gang activity that plagues our county. Gangs are a large part of Madera County crime, including, but not limited to drugs, theft, random violence, gang violence, tagging (graffiti), shootings, murder, and worst of all, they are destroying the minds of our youth.

I am only one citizen of thousands in Madera County who would like to see improvement in our county. If you understand where I am coming from and would like to see someone in office who not only wants the same as we do, but will do something about it, then please join me and vote for Rick Farinelli on Nov. 6 for supervisor of District 3. You won’t have to ask yourself if he will do what he says he’s going to do once he is in office because he is already doing it.

I urge you to go to his website to learn more detail on him, donate, volunteer or have a sign put in your yard.

Feel free to call or email me with any questions on the gang prevention coalition or if you would like to get involved.

I am looking forward to your response.

Rachel Martin,
