Larry Leon Blackburn and Virginia (Ginger) Lee Beckett were teenage sweethearts when they married 50 years ago. Once her children were of school age, Ginger’s love for children extended to students with special needs while she worked as a teacher’s aide at Madison and Millview elementary schools. Ginger later obtained her license in cosmetology and enjoyed caring for clients in her at-home beauty shop.
