After attending the annual Madera County Arts Council (MCAC) gala June 9, we were reminded of how important this organization is to the Madera community.

It is the only nonprofit that devotes itself to the development and nurturing of the arts in all disciplines to the citizens in both the city and the county.

It is for this reason that we want to thank everyone who contributes and supports the various MCAC events.

We would like to thank Steve Barsotti for donating the space next to the Circle Gallery last March for the special exhibit of children’s artwork. It was a most outstanding show and, hopefully, reflects a real interest in the schools, that the arts are essential to a well-balanced education.

We encourage all of Madera to visit the Circle Gallery, promote the importance of the arts and continue to support the Madera County Arts Council.

Shirley and John Sudduth,
