I am with the Tribune on pressuring the School District to release their plan for implementation of Common Core, nickel by nickel.

Too many hidden expense issues lately. Obamacare, HSR, etc. You know the first thing that will happen is a conference in Monterey. “We have to find out how Bakersfield and Fresno are going to do it.”

I fault (State School Superintendent Tom) Torlakson for not having a specific agenda and guidelines (narrow guidelines) on how this is going to happen. This is like giving your grandkids a dollar in the candy store and saying, “Spend it wisely.”

Another spending fiasco: Animal Shelter handing out vouchers for spay and neuter. Ten at a time! I don’t think Mr. (Red) Arnold would approve. Vouchers should accompany an out-of-pocket expense from the owner. Ten at a time! We are probably fixing dogs from Fresno and Merced. A lot of evil started out as a good intention.
