Your editorial about wasted free school breakfasts and lunches was much needed. The idea that a parent isn’t able to pour a glass of milk, ready a bowl of cereal, and even add a piece of toast for his child is sad.
In the first place that’s what parents do, since it is their job description to care for their own. In the second place it teaches responsibility to children: like mommy, like children. And in the third place, it isn’t the place of government to be a parent figure.
Thank you for writing about this government program, which is not a “teachable’ solution.
