A Madera High School graduate bound for UC San Diego this fall to study English was recognized and awarded a scholarship on the soccer fields where she’s played most of her life.
“I’m really excited about having more scholarships because I really need the help for school,” said Toni Hedding, who graduated with a 4.2 grade point average in June.
Her parents, Chris and Lisa Childers, joined her as Madera Youth Soccer League President Mike Dusan and travel league coordinator Angel Garza presented her with a large check Saturday.
