Twenty people from the Parks and Community Services Department, the Youth Commission and volunteers took up paint sponges, brushes of all sizes, and rollers Saturday morning to spruce up and refinish the interior of the Youth Hut at the west end of Olive Avenue.
The building is used for birthday parties, meetings, and small social events. Outside of the building, volunteers cleaned windows, worked on landscaping and performed general cleanup.
The project was part of Love Madera Day and coordinated by Nicki Rincon of the Parks Department.
