The popular band Yard Dogs concluded the Summer Concerts in the Park series with the announcement that New Year’s Eve 2013 will be their final performance.
Vocalist Brett Moglia said the band plans to continue to play venues through next year before their final New Year’s Eve. Sunday evening at Lions Town & Country Park they wowed the crowd with their blend of oldies rock ’n roll of the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s.
The concert season featured a variety of music from the big band sound of the Hal Magnie Band to the gospel singing of Sunnyside Grace. In addition to the Yard Dogs, the local group Neon Rose played to a large crowd and a special tribute to Madera musician, the late Jerry Venturi, featured the area’s finest accordionists.
