Woman who held boyfriend hostage gets 12 years

A 33-year-old Fresno woman who held her boyfriend hostage for more than four hours while torturing him was sentenced to 12 years in state prison, Madera County District Attorney Michael Keitz said.

Sabrina Renee Robinson was convicted Oct. 24 by a Madera County Superior Court jury of assault with a firearm, assault with a knife, criminal threats, false imprisonment and petty theft and was sentenced Thursday.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call in southeast Madera County on June 15. Deputies found the victim, whose name has been withheld for privacy reasons, outside his home naked, asserting that Robinson was still inside with a shotgun, Keitz said.

According to Keitz, deputies learned Robinson had manacled her boyfriend with handcuffs and leg shackles and kept him imprisoned for more than four hours until he escaped. During his imprisonment, Robinson tortured the victim by cutting him with a hunting knife, beating him with a shotgun and burning him with hot candle wax, Keitz said...
